My background in history helped me connect with destinations and cultures. My experience in education strengthened my communication and organization skills.
I didn’t have to become a completely different person.
I simply learned how to use my existing strengths in a new way.
2. I invested in learning
Travel suppliers offer training programs that help advisors understand their destinations, resorts, cruise ships, and experiences.
I completed certifications and education with trusted travel brands, including AmaWaterways River Cruise Academy and Disney’s College of Knowledge.
That learning continues today.
The travel industry changes often. New ships launch. Resorts add experiences. Destinations evolve. Continuing education helps me give better recommendations: and it can help a new advisor build confidence.
3. I found support
This is one of the most important parts.
You do not have to figure out the travel business alone. A supportive team can help you understand systems, suppliers, marketing, client care, and the everyday details of being a home-based advisor.

Some advisors may also charge planning fees for certain custom or complex itineraries.
At Regal Scenic Journeys, many client planning services are complimentary when clients book travel through us because travel suppliers compensate the agency. That is separate from the opportunity to build a travel advisor business.
There are no income guarantees. Your results depend on your effort, bookings, skills, relationships, and the structure you choose.
