No Travel Experience? No Problem. Here's How I Became a Travel Advisor From Home

No Travel Experience? No Problem. Here's How I Became a Travel Advisor From Home

Kim Frink smiling on a cruise ship balcony with ocean views and coastal scenery

Have you ever caught yourself thinking, “I would love to do something different: but I don’t have the experience”?

Maybe you’re a busy mom balancing school schedules, appointments, meals, and everyone else’s needs. Maybe you’re a dedicated caregiver in the sandwich generation, caring for children while also supporting aging parents.

You want more flexibility. More purpose. Maybe you’d love to EarnExtraMoney without giving up the moments that matter most.

I understand.

Before I became a TravelAdvisor, I spent two wonderful decades working in education. I loved helping people, organizing details, and making a difference. But eventually, I felt a new chapter calling.

That chapter became Regal Scenic Journeys.

And here’s the part I want you to know:

I did not begin with years of travel industry experience. I began with curiosity, a love of research, and a willingness to learn.

✨ My Travel Story Started With Something Simple

I have always loved travel. But I didn’t start out knowing every cruise line, resort, destination, or booking system.

What I did know was how to research.

I enjoyed looking at maps, learning about history, comparing options, and building thoughtful itineraries for my own family. I found joy in taking a big dream and turning it into a clear plan.

My sons noticed that.

They saw how excited I became while planning our adventures. They encouraged me to turn that passion into something more.

That encouragement changed everything.

I began learning how the travel business worked. I discovered that you don’t need to be born with a passport in your hand to become a travel professional. You need training, support, organization, and a genuine desire to help people.

Those were skills I already had.

And you may have them, too.

💻 No Travel Experience? Here’s What You Actually Need

You do not need a degree in tourism.

You do not need to have worked for an airline or cruise line.

You do not need to know every destination before you begin.

When you BecomeATravelAgent or start as a travel advisor from home, you can learn the industry step by step through education, supplier training, and mentorship.

What helps most is:

  • A willingness to learn
  • Basic computer and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A love of helping people
  • Consistency and follow-through
  • The ability to listen to what travelers truly want

Think about the skills you already use every day.

You may coordinate family schedules, manage appointments, research purchases, compare prices, organize celebrations, and solve unexpected problems before breakfast.

Those are real skills.

They can translate beautifully into travel advising.

🌍 What Does a Home-Based Travel Advisor Do?

A TravelAdvisor does much more than click “book.”

You listen to a client’s dreams and concerns. You ask the questions that help uncover what they really need. Then you research, recommend, organize, and support.

Depending on your interests, you may help plan:

  • Magical Disney vacations
  • Ocean and river cruises
  • Romantic honeymoons
  • Destination weddings
  • European escapes
  • All-inclusive beach vacations
  • Family getaways
  • Group travel
  • Corporate and business trips

You may work on a complete vacation package or help with one special piece, such as a hotel, cruise, tour, excursion, or transportation.

The goal is not to know everything on day one.

The goal is to become a trusted resource over time.

You learn. You practice. You serve. You grow.

🧭 How I Built My Business From Home

Starting something new can feel intimidating. I know that feeling well.

But I didn’t build Regal Scenic Journeys by trying to master everything overnight. I focused on one step at a time.

1. I leaned into what I already loved

My background in history helped me connect with destinations and cultures. My experience in education strengthened my communication and organization skills.

I didn’t have to become a completely different person.

I simply learned how to use my existing strengths in a new way.

2. I invested in learning

Travel suppliers offer training programs that help advisors understand their destinations, resorts, cruise ships, and experiences.

I completed certifications and education with trusted travel brands, including AmaWaterways River Cruise Academy and Disney’s College of Knowledge.

That learning continues today.

The travel industry changes often. New ships launch. Resorts add experiences. Destinations evolve. Continuing education helps me give better recommendations: and it can help a new advisor build confidence.

3. I found support

This is one of the most important parts.

You do not have to figure out the travel business alone. A supportive team can help you understand systems, suppliers, marketing, client care, and the everyday details of being a home-based advisor.

At Regal Scenic Journeys, I want people to feel encouraged: not overwhelmed.

There is a big difference between being handed information and being truly supported.

4. I started with real people and real conversations

You don’t need a huge audience to begin.

Start by talking with people you already know. Share what you are learning. Ask about the trips people dream about. Become curious.

Maybe someone wants to take their first cruise. Maybe a family is overwhelmed by Disney planning. Maybe a couple wants a honeymoon that feels personal and unforgettable.

Every conversation is an opportunity to listen and learn.

🏡 Why This Path Speaks to Busy Moms and Caregivers

A WorkFromHome travel business can offer a different kind of flexibility.

Not necessarily easy money. Not overnight success. But the opportunity to build something around your life instead of constantly trying to fit your life around a job.

That matters when you are caring for everyone else.

As a Stayathomemom, you may want work that allows you to be present for your children. As a caregiver, you may need a schedule that can adjust when life changes. You may be looking for a meaningful way to EarnExtraMoney while creating a future with more options.

Travel advising can provide a path to explore those goals.

You can begin part time. Learn during the hours available to you. Build your knowledge and client base gradually. Over time, you may decide whether you want to keep it as a side business or grow it into something larger.

There is no single right timeline.

Your journey gets to fit your life.

💰 A Realistic Look at Income

Let’s be honest. Becoming a travel advisor is not a magic button for instant income.

You are building a business. That takes effort, consistency, relationship-building, and time.

Many travel advisors earn commissions from travel suppliers after clients book and complete their trips. Exact commission structures, payment timing, fees, and business requirements vary by supplier and host agency.

Some advisors may also charge planning fees for certain custom or complex itineraries.

At Regal Scenic Journeys, many client planning services are complimentary when clients book travel through us because travel suppliers compensate the agency. That is separate from the opportunity to build a travel advisor business.

There are no income guarantees. Your results depend on your effort, bookings, skills, relationships, and the structure you choose.

But if you are willing to learn and serve people well, this can become a meaningful business built around your strengths.

🤝 What I Wish Someone Had Told Me

You do not have to wait until life becomes less busy.

It may never become less busy.

Children grow. Parents need support. Schedules change. New responsibilities appear.

If you keep waiting for the perfect time, you may wait forever.

Instead, ask yourself:

  • What could I build with a few focused hours each week?
  • What skills do I already have?
  • What kind of flexibility would change my life?
  • Who could I help through travel?
  • What would it feel like to create something that belongs to me?

You don’t need to have the whole plan today.

You only need the courage to take the next step.

🚀 Could You Become a Travel Advisor From Home?

If you have been searching for WorkFromHome opportunities, a flexible business, or a way to turn your love of travel into purpose, this may be worth exploring.

You can learn how the industry works. You can discover your travel niche. You can receive guidance from experienced advisors. You can begin creating a business that grows with you.

And you never have to pretend you know everything.

I didn’t.

I started with a love of travel and a willingness to learn. Today, I help families, couples, professionals, and groups create unforgettable journeys: and I help others explore whether travel advising could be right for them, too.

No travel experience? No problem. Your life experience may be the perfect place to begin.

Wander. Dream. Discover.

Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World in 2026: Which One Is Right for Your Family?

Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World in 2026: Which One Is Right for Your Family?

A joyful family choosing between two magical Disney destinations for a family vacation

Planning a Disney vacation in 2026? ✨ You’re probably asking the big question: Disneyland vs. Walt Disney World: which Disney park is right for your family?

I love both destinations, but they create very different vacation experiences. Disneyland Resort feels compact, nostalgic, and wonderfully easy to navigate. Walt Disney World feels enormous, immersive, and more like an entire vacation universe.

Neither is automatically “better.” The best choice depends on your family’s ages, budget, available time, favorite attractions, travel distance, and tolerance for heat, walking, and planning. Let’s compare them! 🏰🌴

🏰 The biggest difference: compact charm vs. immersive scale

🌟 Disneyland Resort: classic, walkable, and ride-packed

Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, includes:

  • Disneyland Park
  • Disney California Adventure Park
  • Downtown Disney District

The two theme parks sit directly across from each other. In many cases, you can walk from one park entrance to the other in just a few minutes: and nearby hotels are often within walking distance, too.

That compact layout makes Disneyland especially appealing for families with young children, grandparents, or anyone who wants easy midday breaks. When my feet need a rest: or the kids need a nap: you’re not committing to a long bus ride across a massive resort. You simply head back to your hotel and return when everyone is refreshed. 🙌

Disneyland also has a special historic feeling. It’s Walt Disney’s original park, and that sense of classic charm is everywhere: from Main Street, U.S.A., to the original Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Disneyland Railroad, and attractions that have delighted families for generations.

🌎 Walt Disney World: a complete destination resort

Walt Disney World in Central Florida includes:

  • Magic Kingdom
  • EPCOT
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom
  • Two water parks
  • Multiple resort hotels
  • Extensive dining, shopping, recreation, and entertainment

Walt Disney World is huge: truly huge. You’ll use buses, the monorail, boats, the Disney Skyliner, or other transportation depending on where you’re staying and what you’re doing.

That scale is part of the magic! You can spend a full day exploring Pandora – The World of Avatar, another tasting your way through EPCOT’s World Showcase, and another meeting classic characters at Magic Kingdom. It feels less like visiting a theme park and more like entering an entire vacation world. 🌐✨

🎢 Attractions: which resort has the better must-rides?

This is where your family’s priorities matter most.

🚀 Disneyland’s standout attractions

At Disneyland Park, you can experience:

  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
  • Indiana Jones Adventure
  • Matterhorn Bobsleds
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Space Mountain
  • Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Over at Disney California Adventure, major draws include:

  • Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land
  • Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
  • Incredicoaster
  • WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure
  • Soarin’ Around the World
  • Toy Story Midway Mania!
  • World of Color

Disneyland has an impressive ride count for its size. Because everything is close together, you can often experience a high number of attractions in two or three park days with a smart plan.

And Indiana Jones Adventure and Radiator Springs Racers are major reasons some families choose California. They offer experiences you won’t find at Walt Disney World. 🏎️🗺️

⚡ Walt Disney World’s headline experiences

Walt Disney World offers a wider range of large-scale attractions across four parks:

  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios
  • TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom
  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT
  • Avatar Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom
  • Expedition Everest
  • Kilimanjaro Safaris
  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
  • Frozen Ever After
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
  • Slinky Dog Dash
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

If your family wants the greatest variety of thrill rides, immersive lands, shows, and themed experiences, Walt Disney World wins on sheer breadth.

🌌 Rise of the Resistance: nearly the same must-do on both coasts

Good news for Star Wars fans! Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is available at both resorts: in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World.

The experience is remarkably similar: a massive, story-driven attraction combining trackless ride technology, walk-through scenes, motion simulation, and impressive full-scale sets.

Because Rise is usually one of the most popular attractions at either resort, I recommend planning carefully and checking current access options before your trip. The exact policies, prices, and availability can change, so I always review the latest official information with my clients. 🚀

For current attraction details, visit the official Disneyland attractions page and Walt Disney World entertainment and attraction information.

☀️ Weather and seasons: California sunshine vs. Florida humidity

🌴 Disneyland weather

Anaheim generally has a mild, Mediterranean-style climate:

  • Warm, relatively dry summers
  • Cooler evenings
  • More rain during late fall and winter
  • Less humidity than Florida

Summer can still be hot, especially in direct sunlight, but many families find Disneyland more comfortable than Orlando during the same months.

⛈️ Walt Disney World weather

Orlando is known for:

  • Hot, humid summers
  • Frequent afternoon thunderstorms from roughly June through September
  • Warm temperatures well into the evening
  • Milder, more comfortable conditions from late fall through spring

The rain usually doesn’t last all day: but you’ll want ponchos, flexible plans, and indoor attractions ready to go. I often build in a midday resort break or a leisurely meal so families can escape the hottest part of the afternoon.

For a balance of weather and crowds, I especially like looking at late January, February, early May, October, and early November. Holiday weeks can be much busier at either destination. 🎃🍂

✈️ Travel logistics and flight costs

Your home airport may be the deciding factor.

For Disneyland, families typically fly into:

  • John Wayne Airport (SNA)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
  • Long Beach Airport (LGB)

SNA is often the most convenient for Disneyland, though flight prices and schedules vary by city.

For Walt Disney World, most travelers fly into:

  • Orlando International Airport (MCO)

Orlando is a major tourism hub, so families in the eastern and central United States may find more nonstop flight options or competitive fares. Travelers on the West Coast may find California easier and less expensive.

But airfare isn’t the entire transportation story. At Disneyland, you may be able to skip a rental car if you stay near the parks. At Walt Disney World, you can often use complimentary resort transportation: but you’ll spend more time getting from place to place.

I always compare airfare, airport transfers, hotel location, rental-car needs, and total travel time: not just the advertised ticket price. ✈️🧳

🍽️ Dining: resort variety vs. convenient classics

Both destinations offer excellent dining, but Walt Disney World has a broader resort-dining scene because of its size.

At Disneyland, popular choices include:

  • Blue Bayou Restaurant, located inside Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Carnation Café on Main Street, U.S.A.
  • Lamplight Lounge at Pixar Pier
  • Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
  • Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel

I love Disneyland dining because it’s easy to combine a meal with your park day without traveling far.

Walt Disney World offers more variety across its hotels and parks, including:

  • Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • ’Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Space 220 at EPCOT
  • Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria in the Italy Pavilion
  • Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort

Dining can become a vacation experience all by itself at Walt Disney World. Character meals, resort restaurants, themed lounges, festivals, and international cuisine give families plenty to explore: even on a non-park day. 🍕🍽️

A family enjoying a colorful meal during a magical Disney resort vacation

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Crowds, walking, and family energy

Disneyland often feels easier to manage because of its smaller footprint, but it can be busy with local visitors: especially on weekends, holidays, and during special events.

Walt Disney World crowds can rise sharply during:

  • Spring break
  • Summer vacation
  • Thanksgiving week
  • Christmas through New Year’s
  • Major festivals and special events

Both resorts require walking, but Walt Disney World usually involves more of it: and more transportation between experiences. For young children, comfortable shoes and stroller breaks are essential. I also recommend planning fewer “must-dos” than you think you can accomplish. A happy family with time to enjoy a Mickey-shaped snack beats a rushed family racing across the resort! 🍦👟

💰 Price and affordability considerations

Disneyland is often the more affordable option for a shorter Disney vacation. A three- or four-day trip can provide an excellent mix of attractions without requiring a full week of hotel nights, meals, and transportation.

Walt Disney World can cost more overall because families often stay five to seven nights to experience all four parks. You may also budget for:

  • More park tickets
  • Additional hotel nights
  • More meals
  • Transportation between parks and resorts
  • Lightning Lane or other optional upgrades
  • Character dining and special experiences

That doesn’t mean Walt Disney World can’t be budget-friendly. Value resorts, date-based ticket pricing, package promotions, grocery delivery, and strategic park planning can all help.

The important thing is to compare the total vacation cost, not just ticket prices. Sometimes a longer Walt Disney World vacation provides better value for a family that wants a complete resort getaway. Sometimes Disneyland’s shorter, walkable format is exactly what the budget: and the kids: need.

🧭 So, which Disney park is right for your family?

Choose Disneyland if you want:

  • A two- to four-day Disney vacation
  • A compact, walkable resort
  • Easier hotel breaks
  • Classic Disney charm
  • Attractions such as Indiana Jones Adventure and Radiator Springs Racers
  • Milder, less humid weather
  • A potentially lower overall trip cost

Choose Walt Disney World if you want:

  • Four theme parks and water parks
  • A five- to seven-day vacation
  • Maximum attraction and dining variety
  • TRON Lightcycle / Run, Cosmic Rewind, and Flight of Passage
  • A fully immersive resort experience
  • More opportunities for character dining, festivals, and recreation
  • A “big family adventure” feeling

Disney Wish in Europe? 5 New Mediterranean Ports You Can Sail to in Summer 2027

Disney Wish in Europe? 5 New Mediterranean Ports You Can Sail to in Summer 2027

A high-quality, realistic photography style image of the Disney Wish cruise ship sailing through the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea at sunset. In the background, picturesque European coastal town with white-washed buildings and terracotta roofs nestled against lush green hills.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been refreshing the Disney Cruise Line announcements every single day waiting for this news. It’s finally official! The Disney Wish, which has been charming families in the Caribbean since her debut, is packing her bags and heading across the Atlantic for her very first season in Europe for summer 2027.

I’ll be honest, I did a little happy dance when I saw the itineraries. For the longest time, we’ve loved seeing the Disney Dream or the Disney Magic navigate those stunning European coastlines, but seeing the Disney Wish in the Mediterranean? That is a game-changer. It’s the perfect blend of modern luxury, high-tech storytelling, and the timeless beauty of the Old World.

As a Disney travel agent, I’ve already had clients calling me to ask, "Which ports are brand new?" and "How do I choose between the fjords and the sunshine?" Today, I’m breaking down 5 of the most exciting ports, including some brand-new additions to the Disney map, that you can visit aboard the Disney Wish in 2027.

⚓ 1. Trieste (Venice), Italy

One of the most exciting "firsts" for the 2027 season is the inclusion of Trieste. If you’ve ever dreamt of sailing into the heart of the Adriatic, this is your moment. Trieste serves as a stunning gateway to the Venice area, but it’s a destination all its own.

I noticed that many seasoned cruisers are thrilled about this change. Trieste offers a more relaxed, authentic Italian atmosphere than some of the busier hubs. You can wander through the Piazza Unità d'Italia, which is one of the largest sea-facing squares in Europe, and sip a rich Italian espresso while watching the waves.

  • Pro Tip: If you want to visit Venice, most excursions from Trieste will involve a scenic train or coach ride. I recommend booking your port adventure early to ensure you get that iconic gondola experience!
  • The Vibe: Elegant, historical, and deeply romantic.
  • Best For: History buffs and coffee lovers.

🌊 2. Zadar, Croatia

I have to say, Zadar is the "hidden gem" of the 2027 Mediterranean itineraries. While many cruises stop in Dubrovnik (which is also spectacular), the Disney Wish is making a brand-new call to Zadar, and it’s a place of pure magic.

One thing you cannot miss is the Sea Organ. It’s an architectural sound art object that plays music by way of sea waves and tubes located underneath a set of large marble steps. It’s absolutely haunting and beautiful. I missed out on seeing it during my last private trip to the region, and it’s at the top of my list for 2027!

Picturesque European coastal scene at sunset with pastel skies, rocky shoreline, and historic stone buildings.

Expert Advice: If your family loves nature, look for excursions to Krka National Park. The waterfalls there are like something out of a fairy tale, perfect for those "main character" vacation photos.

🏔️ 3. Hellesylt, Norway

Okay, I know the title says "Mediterranean," but I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't mention Hellesylt. This is the third brand-new port for Disney Cruise Line in 2027, and it’s the jewel of the Norwegian Fjords.

When the Disney Wish sails into the Geirangerfjord, you’ll want to be on the upper deck with a warm blanket and a camera. The cliffs are sheer, the water is a deep emerald green, and the waterfalls: like the famous Seven Sisters: are breathtaking. It’s a complete contrast to the sun-drenched beaches of Italy, but equally magical.

  • Why it's special: This is the first time the Disney Wish will tackle the cooler northern waters, offering a whole new atmosphere for the ship’s onboard activities.
  • Activity Idea: Look for hiking tours or small-boat explorations that get you close to the base of the waterfalls.

🏛️ 4. Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

While Civitavecchia isn't a "new" port for Disney, it serves as the homeport for some of the most exciting new itineraries on the Disney Wish. As the gateway to Rome, it’s often the starting or ending point of your journey, and I always tell my clients: "Do not just rush to the ship!"

Rome is a city that requires a bit of planning. Whether you want to see the Colosseum, the Vatican, or just eat your weight in gelato near the Trevi Fountain, having a plan is key. I’ve helped dozens of families navigate the logistics of getting from the port to the city center, and it’s one of those times where a cruise travel agent really saves the day.

Panoramic view of Rome’s historic skyline featuring iconic domes and classic architecture.

I'll be writing a full guide on "Rome in a Day" soon, but for now, remember that the Disney Wish offers a variety of port adventures that take the stress out of navigating the "Eternal City" with kids in tow.

🇬🇷 5. Mykonos, Greece

No Mediterranean summer is complete without the white-washed buildings and blue domes of the Greek Isles. Mykonos is a standout stop on the Disney Wish's 2027 rotation. It’s chic, it’s vibrant, and it’s incredibly photogenic.

I’ve noticed that families often worry about Mykonos being too much of a "party island," but during the day, it is delightful for all ages. Walking through the narrow, winding streets of Chora (the main town) feels like being inside a maze designed by an artist.

  • Top Tip: Head to the famous windmills for a photo, then find a little cafe in "Little Venice" for lunch.
  • The Food: You haven't lived until you've had authentic Greek gyros and honey-drizzled loukoumades by the sea.

A sunlit view of Santorini’s iconic white and pastel cliffside homes and sparkling blue Aegean Sea.

Why Plan Your 2027 Adventure with a Disney Cruise Line Travel Agent?

I know it’s tempting to just hop online and click "book," but when it comes to a major trip like a European cruise, the details matter. That’s where we come in! At Regal Scenic Journeys, we live and breathe travel logistics so you don't have to.

When you work with a Disney travel agent, you’re getting:

  • Complimentary Planning Services: We are paid by the travel suppliers (like Disney), which means you get our expertise at no extra cost. You pay exactly what you’d pay Disney directly, but you get a real person to help you.
  • Insider Perks: We know the ships inside and out. Want to know which deck on the Disney Wish is the quietest? Or which dining rotation is the best? We’ve got the answers.
  • Stress-Free Logistics: From arranging private transfers in Rome to helping you navigate the referral rewards program (where you can earn $25 Amazon gift cards for referring friends!), we handle the heavy lifting.
  • Full Support: If a flight is delayed or a tour is canceled, you don’t have to wait on hold with a call center. You call us, and we fix it.

A joyful couple enjoys a sunny day on a boat with a scenic city shoreline in the background.

The 2027 season is going to be incredibly popular, especially with the Disney Wish making her debut. Booking early is the best way to secure the best staterooms and the most competitive pricing.

I’d love to help you plan your family’s most magical summer yet. Whether you’re dreaming of the Croatian coast or the Italian sun, let’s make it happen!

From Stay-at-Home Mom to Travel Advisor: Your Flexible Career Starts Here

From Stay-at-Home Mom to Travel Advisor: Your Flexible Career Starts Here

A smiling traveler enjoys sunny ocean views from a cruise ship balcony, representing the dream of a flexible career in travel

If you are a busy mom, a dedicated caregiver caught in the sandwich generation, or simply someone who feels entirely stuck in the daily grind of endless laundry, meal prep, and school drop-offs, I want you to know something important: you are not alone.

I know that because I have lived it.

There was a season of my life when I was caring for everyone else first, juggling family responsibilities, and wondering if there was still room for something that belonged to me too. I wanted a creative outlet. I wanted to #EarnExtraMoney for my family. And more than anything, I wanted flexibility: a career that could fit around real life instead of asking me to miss the moments that mattered most.

That dream did not begin in a fancy office. It started at my kitchen table.

I started exploring what it could look like to become a home-based #TravelAdvisor, and I felt all the same doubts you may be feeling right now. Was I experienced enough? Could I really build something meaningful from home? Was it actually possible to #BecomeATravelAgent and create a true #WorkFromHome business while caring for my family?

The answer, for me, was yes.

Step by step, booking by booking, I built what would become Regal Scenic Journeys Team. So as you read this, I want you to hear my heart: if you are a #Stayathomemom or caregiver craving more freedom, more purpose, and more possibility, this path may be the fresh start you have been praying for.

Let me share what this journey looked like for me, and why it may be a beautiful fit for you too.

🌟 Why the Travel Industry Called My Name

When I first began thinking about a new career, I did not want rigid office hours, long commutes, or a job that would leave me feeling torn between work and family. I needed something different. Something flexible. Something meaningful.

That is exactly what I found as an independent travel advisor.

Here is why this career became such a perfect fit for my life, and why it may be for yours too:

  • Complete Schedule Control: I could work during quiet morning hours, from my kitchen table, in between family responsibilities, or after everyone went to bed.
  • Zero Need for a Traditional Corporate Background: I did not need a tourism degree or some perfect résumé. I just needed a love for travel, a willingness to learn, and a heart for helping people.
  • Real Income Potential: I discovered I could #EarnExtraMoney by helping clients plan incredible vacations, from Disney trips and cruises to honeymoons and European escapes.
  • Travel Perks and Firsthand Experience: The more I grew, the more opportunities I had to experience destinations and suppliers so I could serve my clients with confidence.

For me, this was never just about travel. It was about building a life with more freedom, more joy, and more room to breathe.

✈️ What Did This Work-from-Home Travel Advisor Life Actually Look Like for Me?

An older couple smiling for a selfie while seated in an airplane cabin, capturing the excitement of travel

When I stepped into this role, I quickly realized I was becoming so much more than someone who booked trips. I became a trusted guide. A problem-solver. A curator of unforgettable memories for my clients.

My daily tasks fit into the pockets of my day, which is one of the reasons this #WorkFromHome path worked so well for me:

  1. Consulting with Clients: I listened carefully to what families, couples, and groups were dreaming about, then helped shape those ideas into real plans.
  2. Researching Destinations: I spent time learning about resorts, cruise itineraries, flights, Disney vacations, and enchanting destinations around the world.
  3. Crafting Itineraries: I put together seamless vacation packages, hotel stays, tours, and customized experiences.
  4. Providing Ongoing Support: I stayed available for questions and guidance so my clients felt cared for from the moment they booked until they returned home.

Best of all, I was able to build this with a laptop, an internet connection, and a willingness to keep learning. It truly began right at my kitchen table.

🧭 My Step-by-Step Path to Starting

Transitioning from busy mom and caregiver to business owner felt intimidating at first. I did not have every answer on day one. I did not feel fearless. But I kept going anyway, and that is how Regal Scenic Journeys Team was born.

1. I Found the Courage to Start Small

My beginning was simple. A kitchen table. A laptop. A dream that would not leave me alone. I did not wait for perfect conditions. I just took the first step.

2. I Worked Through the Doubts

I questioned myself more than once. I wondered if I was capable, if anyone would trust me, and if I could really build something lasting while still showing up for my family. If you are feeling that too, please know those doubts do not disqualify you. They are often part of the beginning.

3. I Built One Relationship at a Time

My business did not explode overnight. It grew through trust, care, consistency, and serving people well. One client became another. One booking became momentum. One small win became a thriving agency.

4. I Created the Kind of Business I Needed

As the business grew, so did the vision. I built Regal Scenic Journeys Team to support travelers with expert care and to create space for others who want to #BecomeATravelAgent too. Especially women who need a flexible path, a meaningful career, and a supportive way to #EarnExtraMoney from home.

If you are wondering whether a #Stayathomemom can really build something beautiful, I am living proof that she can.

💼 Balancing Mom Life and Building My Career

An older couple poses for a cheerful selfie while swimming in clear blue ocean waters, representing the freedom of remote work

One of the biggest questions I had in the beginning was: "How will I ever find the time?"

Here is what I learned: I did not need massive, uninterrupted 8-hour workdays to get started. Travel advising could grow in real life, inside the margins of my day.

  • I Batched My Tasks: I used quiet morning minutes or evening time to answer emails, research trips, and follow up with clients.
  • I Used Flexible Scheduling: I learned to create consultation windows that worked around my family’s routine.
  • I Grew at My Own Pace: I did not have to do everything at once. I could take one booking, then another, and build confidence as I went.

That is one of the most beautiful things about this journey. I was building a business that honored my family instead of competing with it. If someone needed me, I could close the laptop and be present. That kind of freedom matters.

🤝 Training, Community, and Growing Together

As my business grew, I realized something important: building a career like this should not feel lonely.

That is part of why I created Regal Scenic Journeys Team the way I did. I wanted a place where aspiring advisors could feel supported, encouraged, and equipped with real training, mentorship, and community. The kind of support I know makes all the difference when you are starting something new.

Whether you want a part-time way to #EarnExtraMoney or you dream of building a full travel business of your own, I want you to know there is room for you to grow here.

✨ Ready to Take the First Step?

If your heart is beating a little faster reading this, I understand. Mine did too when I first realized this path might change my life.

If you are ready to trade feeling stuck for flexibility, purpose, and the possibility of building something meaningful, I would love to encourage you. You do not have to have it all figured out today. You just have to take the first step.

4-Day Wed-cation Ideas That Outshine a Traditional Reception Hall

4-Day Wed-cation Ideas That Outshine a Traditional Reception Hall

Sunset welcome reception on a tropical beach resort

🌴 Planning a wedding used to mean booking a four-hour ballroom slot, rushing through a hurried receiving line, and watching the clock run out just as the party was getting started! (Sound familiar?) If you’re like the couples I talk to every single day at Regal Scenic Journeys Travel, you’re probably wondering why you should spend thousands of dollars on a fleeting evening when you could trade the fluorescent banquet lighting for ocean breezes, golden sunsets, and a multi-day celebration.

✨ Enter the "wed-cation", a seamless 4-day resort takeover or destination wedding retreat where your wedding day is just the grand finale of an unforgettable vacation! (📸 Take a look at that sunset welcome reception above, doesn't that beat a hotel banquet room any day?!) As your travel experts, we believe your celebration deserves more than just a fleeting afternoon. Let's dive into why a 4-day wed-cation completely eclipses the traditional reception hall and how you can design an experience your guests will talk about for years to come! 🥂

🏖️ Why a 4-Day Wed-cation Beats a 4-Hour Reception Hall

🕒 Let’s do some quick math. A traditional wedding reception lasts roughly four hours. By the time you cut the cake, take family photos, and dance your first dance, the night is over! You barely get to say hello to your favorite cousin from out of state.

💖 Contrast that with a 4-day destination wedding experience! You get quality time with the people who matter most.

  • 🎉 Zero rushing: You aren't tied to a strict vendor exit time at 11:00 PM!
  • 🌴 Built-in vacation: Your guests get a tropical getaway, and you get a stress-free environment.
  • 💰 Better value per hour: Instead of paying exorbitant hourly ballroom rental fees, your resort package bundles hospitality, dining, and breathtaking backdrops.

(I always tell my couples: your wedding shouldn't feel like a high-stress marathon; it should feel like the best vacation of your life!)

🗓️ Your Ultimate 4-Day Wed-cation Itinerary Blueprint

Morning group yoga session overlooking the ocean

🧘‍♀️ When we help couples plan their destination weddings at Regal Scenic Journeys Travel, we always design a balanced flow. (📸 Imagine starting Day 2 with that gorgeous oceanfront yoga session above!) You want excitement, romance, and plenty of breathing room. Here is my favorite tested-and-proven 4-day itinerary structure:

🌊 Day 1: Arrival, Unwinding, & Sunset Welcome Cocktails

  • 🧳 Staggered arrivals: Give your guests the freedom to check in, unpack, and explore the resort without any rigid daytime obligations.
  • 🍹 Hospitality lounge: Set up a welcome corner with local tropical drinks and snacks.
  • 🔥 Sunset welcome party: Kick off the week with beachside cocktails, a bonfire, or casual tapas. (No stiff seating charts required!)

🌺 Day 2: Group Adventure & Rehearsal Dinner Vibes

  • 🧘‍♀️ Morning wellness: Optional group yoga or a guided nature walk to shake off any travel fatigue.
  • 🚤 Afternoon excursion: Catamaran snorkeling trip, private boat charter, or a local cultural food tour!
  • 🍽️ Hosted dinner: A relaxed rehearsal dinner at one of the resort’s specialty restaurants or on a private garden lawn.

💍 Day 3: The Wedding Day & Epic After-Party

Beachside wedding ceremony setup at sunset

  • Slow morning: While the wedding party enjoys hair, makeup, and mimosas, your guests can lounge by the pool or hit the spa! (📸 Just look at that breathtaking beachside ceremony setup above!)
  • 🥂 The Ceremony & Reception: Exchange vows with crashing waves as your soundtrack, followed by a starlit reception.
  • Late-night after-party: Move the celebration to a rooftop lounge, a beach bonfire, or a private club space.

🥞 Day 4: Farewell Brunch & Memories

Cheerful farewell brunch by a resort infinity pool

  • 🥂 Farewell brunch: Gather everyone around a reserved terrace or poolside restaurant for mimosas and delicious pastries. (📸 Like the sunny poolside brunch pictured above!)
  • 🌊 Open afternoon: Unstructured time for final farewells, pool lounging, or spontaneous group photos before heading home.

I'd love to help you design the perfect trip tailored to your dream destination! Feel free to reach out to us at Regal Scenic Journeys Travel so we can start mapping out your timeline today. ✨
